The headline fixture of this weekend’s Premier League action sees Manchester City take on arch rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.
United won this fixture 3-2 last season, and their dramatic 2-1 victory away to Juventus on Wednesday night will have them brimming with confidence ahead of the 43rd Manchester derby of the Premier League era.
City, meanwhile, saw a resounding 6-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk overshadowed by a hugely controversial penalty awarded after Raheem Sterling tripped up inside the box, while claims surrounding the club’s compliance with FFP has made for a difficult weeks for the Citizens.
Pep Guardiola’s side are, however, sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table, while Jose Mourinho’s side lie in seventh.

Head to Head
The Manchester rivals have met 42 times in the Premier League, with United winning 21 times, City 13, and eight draws between them.
United and City each beat each other on their own turf last season: City won 2-1 at Old Trafford in December before United sealed a 3-2 comeback win at the Etihad in April - a result which did not ultimately cost City the title, but prevented them from being crowned in front of their rivals.
