Manchester crash: At least five people injured after car collides with pedestrians in Trafford

At least five people have been seriously injured after a car collided with a group of pedestrians in Manchester.

Emergency services were called to Europa Way, in the Trafford Park area of the city at around 9.50pm on Thursday evening.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and investigations are underway to trace the driver, Greater Manchester Police said.

North West Ambulance Service said it had attended the scene and provided treatment for five people with “serious injuries”.

“A car hit five or six people. People were flung everywhere,” one eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News.

“I saw a man in a bush afterwards and a lady with head injuries.”

A National Police Air Service helicopter from the force's Barton base was also launched to assist with the investigation.

Police said there was no indication the incident was terror-related.
