Manchester corporate team at Hill Dickinson deliver more than £375m of deals in 2019

The Manchester corporate team of north west law firm Hill Dickinson has hailed ‘another positive year’ after completing more than £375m of deals in 2019.

The figure forms part of the firm’s overall deal value in 2019 of £1.5bn nationally.

The results continue Hill Dickinson’s national growth strategy and reflect a period in which its corporate team delivered over 80 successfully completed deals nationally for its clients.

Significant transactions during the period include advising on the sale of City Pantry to Just Eat, Sykes Cottages on the acquisition of Pure Cottages Group and advising Zeus Capital on the public takeover of Bonmarche Holdings and the £62.8m public takeover of Murgitroyd Group.

The firm also acted for Waterland Private Equity on its investment in Cawood Scientific as well as acting for Maven Capital Partners and NVM Private Equity on the £7m investment round in Mojo Mortgages.

The Manchester corporate team also advised Praetura Ventures on the £15m Series B investment round in Sorted Group as well as advising PHD Equity Partners on its acquisition and investment in Auto Marine Cables International.

Ian Gillis, head of the Manchester corporate team at Hill Dickinson, said: “Despite the uncertain political backdrop to 2019, the Manchester market was resilient and we acted upon several significant high-profile and high-value transactions across our M&A, private equity and equity capital markets teams.

“We are delighted to have assisted our clients on such transactions and we are extremely proud to have delivered

value of over £375m.”

He added: “Our pipeline for this year is strong and we are looking forward to continuing to support our clients and delivering more successful completed deals in 2020.”

Hill Dickinson, which has corporate teams based in Liverpool, Manchester and London, has continued to invest in and expand its corporate team presence in London and the north west with a number of recent hires.

This includes the arrival last month of new partner Shantanu Sinha, who has joined the London team from Mishcon de Reya.
