Manchester City youngster Phil Foden signs new five-and-a-half-year deal

England youngster Phil Foden has signed a new long-term contract with Manchester City.

The 18-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year-year deal, worth a reported £30,000-a-week, to keep him at the club until 2024.

A product of Man City's academy, Foden has been at the club since the age of eight, and is the youngest player to ever receive a Premier League winners medal, having won the title last season as a 17-year-old.

Foden is rated as one of the brightest prospects in English football, and won the Golden Ball for player of the tournament as England won the U17 World Cup last year, an achievement that also saw him crowned BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

City had been key to tie secure Foden's future, having lost another leading prospect, Jadon Sancho, to Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

So far this season, Foden has made the 13 appearances for City in all competitions, and scored his first senior goal for the club in the EFL Cup win over Oxford United.
