Man City XI vs Tottenham: Confirmed news and starting lineup - Sterling AND Aguero on the bench

Manchester City duo Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are only fit enough for the bench for today’s trip to Tottenham.

Sterling picked up a calf injury during England training last week, while Aguero used the international break to regain some fitness.

Sterling followed Aguero in returning to City training on Friday, but both are substitutes against Spurs.

Fernandinho is out after a bout of gastroenteritis, while Nathan Ake was another casualty of the domestic hiatus and will be sidelined this evening.

There was initial confusion over Oleksandr Zinchenko’s availability after the entire Ukraine squad was placed into quarantine, and he misses out here.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Joao Cancelo, De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Torres

Subs: Stones, Sterling, Gundogan, Aguero, Steffen, Foden, Garcia

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon, Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Son, Kane

Subs: Bale, Hart, Rodon, Lo Celso, Lucas Moura, Davies, Vinicius

Referee: Mike Dean
