Pep Guardiola has made five changes to his Manchester City side for tonight’s clash with Southampton, with Phil Foden among those to come in.
Foden and Bernardo Silva both come in in attacking areas, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus making way, but there is not start for Sergio Aguero, so it looks as if Guardiola has opted for a false-nine system.
In midfield, Rodri is given a rest as Fernandinho comes into the holding role, while further back, Joao Cancelo and John Stones drop to the bench and are replaced by Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte.
Guardiola insisted his squad are "on fire" in training as they look to get back to winning ways after Sunday’s Manchester derby defeat.
Asked about the mood in the camp, Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference: "A mix of disappointment and sadness and at the same time, the second day was better and today, completely on fire.
"It's a normal process when you lose the games. The reaction is common."
Guardiola dismissed suggestions his side should brush off Southampton convincingly given the opponents' recent form and the fact they have lost two games 9-0 in the past two seasons.
"We will score 18, this will be the result," said Guardiola sarcastically.
"What a question! Do you think this is a joke? We are going to score nine goals or 18? We are just trying to win the game."
He added: "No run exists. It is one game at a time. Southampton - try to do a good game against a good side."
Man City starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gündogan, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Foden
