Manchester City XI vs Olympiacos: Confirmed early team news, predicted lineup, latest Champions League injury

Manchester City have today been boosted by the return to training of Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy as they prepare to face Olympiacos in the Champions League.

Fernandinho, City's captain, had been sidelined with a bout of gastroenteritis and left-back Mendy has shaken off a knock. Neither will be fit enough to face the Greek side on Wednesday as City look to secure their last-16 spot.

However, centre-back Nathan Ake's thigh injury means the summer signing remains unavailable. Ake is now Pep Guardiola’s sole major absentee.

Sergio Aguero, fit after a hamstring injury, will be hoping to get on the pitch having made the matchday squad in Saturday's loss at Tottenham but being an unused substitute.

Predicted Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Sterling, Aguero, Foden

Provisional squad: Ederson, Steffen, Walker, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Garcia, Zinchenko, Cancelo, Gundogan, Rodri, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Mahrez, Foden, Torres, Jesus, Aguero.
