Man City XI vs Liverpool: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and latest injury list

Sergio Aguero is not fit to return for Manchester City in today’s title clash against Premier League champions Liverpool.

The striker has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and the club were hopeful over him facing the league leaders, but Pep Guardiola has confirmed the latest.

"No, he is not ready, not yet," the City boss said.

Aguero will now aim to make his comeback against Tottenham after the international break.

Aguero's injury had left City without a specialist centre-forward but Gabriel Jesus made a goalscoring return to action as a substitute against Olympiacos in the Champions League in midweek.

The Brazilian is now likely to be involved this afternoon.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling

Sunday 4.30pm, Sky Sports

Venue: Etihad Stadium

Referee: Craig Pawson

Last meeting: Man City 4-0 Liverpool

Injured: Aguero (hamstring), Mendy (other), Fernandinho (other)
