Manchester City XI vs Burnley: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League

Manchester City’s dearth in strikers has been dealt another blow after manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Ferran Torres will be out for “two to three months”.

The Spaniard scored twice against Italy in the Nations League semi-final last week but was substituted before the final whistle. He was selected for the final against France but was forced off before the end of the match.

Scans have since confirmed that he has endured a fracture to the metatarsal in his right foot.

Ederson and Gabriel Jesus are also out following Brazil’s clash with Uruguay, which finished in the early hours of Friday morning in South America.

There is some good news for Guardiola, though, with Ukranian full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and German midfielder İlkay Gundogan having returned to training. Both players are in contention for selection against Burnley at the Etihad this weekend.

“We are happy and delighted they are back,” Guardiola said. “Everybody except Ferran is OK.”

Manchester City predicted lineup (4-3-3): Steffen; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Foden; Mahrez, Silva, Grealish.
