Manchester City XI vs Aston Villa: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

Manchester City are without star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne for tonight’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The Belgian was forced off during Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea at Wembley and City are now sweating on his fitness ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola has made eight changes to the side that started the loss against the Blues, which ended his sides hopes of an historic treble, with only Ruben Dias, Rodri and Gabriel Jesus keeping their places.

American goalkeeper Zack Steffen was given a start in that game but was partly at fault for Hakim Ziyech’s goal and Ederson comes straight back into the side as City return to Premier League action, while John Stones is restored to the backline.

Phil Foden came off the bench to replace the injured De Bruyne and is back in from the start here, as is Riyad Mahrez, with Ilkay Gundogan captaining the side.

Man City starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Gündogan, Rodrigo, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Jesus
