Manchester City win the Premier League with emphatic win over Brighton

Manchester City have won the Premier League title for the second year in a row in emphatic fashion.

City had to get three points to take the trophy after an incredible title race with Liverpool.

The Blues beat Brighton 4-1 with goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogann.

It was a nervy start when Brighton took the lead but just 83 seconds later, City equalised.

This is the first time in history that City have retained their Premier League title.

Liverpool did all they could and beat Wolves through a Sadio Mane double.

They've been slugging it out at the top of the table all season and now it all came down to the final day.

City knew a victory would seal the title regardless of what Liverpool do, but anything less would have given Liverpool the golden opportunity to secure their first ever.

Thousands of fans are celebrating the win at the Etihad Stadium.

The crowd erupted and threw beer everywhere as the referee blew the final whistle.

There were emotional scenes in Brighton as players celebrated with travelling fans.
