Manchester City vs Manchester United: Premier League preview | Predictions, betting tips, live stream, TV, H2H

Manchester City vs Manchester United
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Kick-off time: 4:30pm GMT

Manchester City host rivals Manchester United in the city’s first derby of the season.

City were denied the chance to lift the Premier League trophy in front of their neighbours last season when Paul Pogba inspired his side to a thrilling 3-2 win at the Etihad last May.

It only delayed the inevitable however with last season’s champions already leading United by nine points just 11 games into the new campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s side come into the fixture with a different aura about them, however.

The manager has answered questions about his future with an improved run of form built on stirring comebacks, capped with a victory in Turin over Juventus on Wednesday.

And with last season’s fightback still fresh in the memories of many, the United boss will feel his side is equipped to deliver an upset.

Team news

Mourinho is expected to give another update on Romelu Lukaku’s fitness on Friday. The Belgium international has missed his side’s last two matches through injury having been benched for the victory over Everton at the end of October.

Antonio Valencia has trained this week along with Marouane Fellaini – the latter whom came on as a late sub in Turin.

Alexis Sanchez has started through the middle in his last two matches in Lukaku’s absence but the Chile international looked to be struggling with a thigh problem before he was replaced by Fellaini with 11 minutes remaining.

Kevin de Bruyne is City’s only notable absentee – albeit a significant one. The Belgian is not expected to return until mid-December after suffering another knee injury during the EFL Cup victory over Fulham.
