Manchester City reclaimed top spot in the Premier League after a routine 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
The champions were not quite at their fluent best, but still proved far too good for the visitors and should have scored more than their two goals.
Both strikes came in the first half, initially through Kevin De Bruyne's powerful finish from a tight angle and then via Leroy Sane's low raking finish.
The defeat leaves Cardiff five points from safety and in desperate need of victory against their next two opponents: relegation rivals Burnley and Brighton.
