Maxime Esteve's unlucky own goal put a dominant City 1-0 ahead early on before Jaidon Anthony's equaliser silenced the Etihad Stadium just before the break. However, the tie turned just after the hour mark, as Matheus Nunes slammed home Haaland's knockdown and Esteve managed to divert home another own goal. At 3-1 the contest was over, but no one told Haaland, as he chased and harried himself into the ground and got the reward with two brilliantly taken goals in the dying minutes. Five goals scored from an xG of 2.09 is kind to City, with Burnley only managing 0.40, ahead of one more league game each before the international break. Next up for City is a trip to Brentford on October 5 - after a Champions League clash in Monaco - with Burnley heading to Aston Villa.
