Manchester City suffer Sergio Aguero scare ahead of weekend trip to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace will play host to champions Manchester City this weekend.

And they will beware a backlash from the champions, who go into the match off the back of a shock home defeat to Wolves prior to the international break.

But Palace are something of a bogey team to City, if Pep Guardiola's side have one of those, in the fact that they have only won one of the last three against the Eagles.

Palace stunned City with a 3-2 win at the Etihad last season, thanks to a wondergoal from Andros Townsend.

And City have suffered something of a scare in the build-up to the game at Selhurst Park this weekend.

Star striker Sergio Aguero - the Premier League's joint top scorer this season with eight goals - has been involved in a car crash.

According to our friends at the Mirror , Aguero was driving his £80,000 Range Rover when the accident occurred, leaving significant damage to the front offside wheel.

But City sources confirmed to the Mirror that the club's all-time leading goalscorer emerged unscathed from the prang and suffered no injury as a result of the collision.

Aguero missed out on joining up with his Argentina team-mates during the international break as he was carrying an injury and it remains to be seen if he will recover from that, or if the car crash will play any part in him missing the trip to south London on Saturday.

He was in training with City on Monday ahead of the Palace clash.
