Manchester City star sends Premier League message as he enjoys Marcelo Bielsa reunion at Elland Road

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte was reunited with his former boss Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road on Saturday as he gave Leeds United's promotion prospects the thumbs up.

The Frenchman was handed his senior debut by Bielsa in 2012 during the Whites head coach's time in charge at Athletic Bilbao and he took time out of his recovery from a hamstring injury to take in Leeds' Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town.

Goals from Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford helped Leeds claim a 2-0 win which saw them return to the top of the Championship table and Laporte had a gift for the Argentine.

The 25-year-old posted a picture on Twitter of himself presenting a City shirt to a beaming Bielsa, along with the caption 'see you next season'.

Laporte's visit came after his City teammate Benjamin Mendy was present at Elland Road back in January to take in the 3-2 win over Millwall as a guest of Jean-Kevin Augustin.

Mendy played under Bielsa at Marseille and both players have credited Bielsa for progressing their careers.
