Yaya Touré was absent from the open part of Manchester City’s training on Monday morning, a day before the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.
Touré suffered a muscle injury towards the end of Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Stoke City. While the Ivorian remained on the field, Manuel Pellegrini said afterwards he may have to see the club doctor on Sunday.
While Touré was not in the group that was put through its paces by the manager at the City Football Academy, Vincent Kompany was. The captain was not in the 18 for Stoke, though Pellegrini said that was merely precautionary.
The Belgian is expected to address the media on Monday afternoon alongside Pellegrini.
