Manchester City's title warning to Liverpool after Champions League heartbreak

Manchester City are ready to go head-to-head with Liverpool for the Premier League title as they look to make up for their Champions League heartbreak on Tuesday night.

That's the defiant message from the City camp after their hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple were shattered by Spurs in dramatic style.

City are now looking to regroup ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium - which could be key in their race with Liverpool .

Liverpool's three-point plan to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League  

Midfielder Bernando Silva is expecting a big response from his team-mates.

“We have a game in three days against Tottenham, again here at home. We need the three points, to win,” he said.

“Obviously we are very disappointed tonight but we will have to forget about it and go for the competitions we are still in.

“This is not time for revenge, [it is] time for another competition, time to keep us alive in the title race.

“We will try to win the game in the same way we did today, knowing that we are playing against a very good team. That will make it difficult for us.

Jurgen Klopp has a message for Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez ahead of Liverpool return  

“We know Liverpool are probably winning all their games so we have to win all our games.

"Our focus is to win three points after three points and at the end of it try to celebrate the title."

His manager Pep Guardiola also wants his side to channel their disappointment by beating Liverpool to the Premier League trophy.

“We have to react, close time, same team," he explained.

"We fought a lot, nine, ten months for the Premier League. It’s in our hands.

“It’s tough, of course, but we have to do it.”
