Manchester City's potential Champions League opponents if they beat Real Madrid

UEFA have confirmed that the draws for the Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will take place at their headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday 10 July.

The governing body last month announced that the 2019/20 Champions League will conclude with a ‘final-eight’ mini-tournament in Lisbon in August.

The quarter and semi-finals will be reduced to one leg from the standard two-leg format, with the games commencing on 12 August and the final taking place on 23 August.

Manchester City are still waiting to play out the second leg of their last 16 clash with Real Madrid, having beaten their Spanish counterparts 2-1 at the Bernabeu prior to lockdown.

It's yet to be confirmed when or where that match will take place, with UEFA yet to decide whether the match will take place at the Etihad Stadium as normal.

There are already four teams who have qualified for the quarter-finals, which City could be drawn against should they proceed; Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain.

There will be three draws made on Friday. One will be for the quarter-finals, another for the semi-finals, and then a third to determine the 'home' side in the final for administrative reasons.

It is also worth noting that there are no seedings and no country protection, so teams can face opposition from the same national association.

Of the other last 16 clashes awaiting the second leg, Bayern Munich hold a commanding 3-0 lead against Chelsea, whilst Napoli and Barcelona is tied at 1-1 and Lyon lead Juventus 1-0.
