Manchester City's nod to Peterhead's League Two triumph as they 'borrow' social media post

They might well have just won the Premier League but Manchester City have taken the opportunity to congratulate Peterhead on their own title success.

The Blue Toon capped a brilliant season by beating Queen's Park 2-0 last weekend and winning League Two .

They took to their social media to celebrate the win with a post, which said 'League 2 Champions 2018/19'.

A week on City, while celebrating their own triumph, made a bizarre nod to Peterhead's triumph on social media.

The Premier League champions adapted the north-east club's graphic to say 'Premier League Champions 2018/19' - while saying "Hope you don't mind us borrowing this, @pfcofficial'.

Pep Guardiola's team then added: "Congrats on your league win!"

It's fair to say the jovial post made Peterhead 's evening, as they showed the post off on their own Twitter with the caption 'Booooom!'

There must be a soft spot for the Blue Toon down in Manchester.
