Manchester City player ratings: David Silva masterclass on show against Fulham

Manchester City eased into the FA Cup fifth round after a comfortable win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

James Robson runs the rule over Pep Guardiola’s side after an easy day at the office.

Claudio Bravo: 5

Unlikely he’ll ever have a quieter day. Distribution as good as ever, but probably didn’t need a shower afterwards.

Joao Cancelo: 7

Yet to establish himself in City’s starting XI, but this was a good day for the right back, who was allowed to push high up the pitch. Lovely cross for Jesus’ first goal.

Nicolas Otamendi: 6

Totally at ease, but never stretched by a Fulham side just trying to avoid embarrassment.

Eric Garcia: 6

Just looks completely at home around world class players. A typical Guardiola defender, who is so comfortable on the ball 6

Angelino: 6

A real attacking threat from full back. Delivery wasn’t at its best on this occasion.

Bernardo Silva: 7

Superb goal and too slippery for Fulham to handle in and around the box 7

Ilkay Gundogan: 6

Dictated City’s play in midfield to keep Fulham on the back foot throughout 6

Phil Foden: 6

These are the games you want to see him take charge of. But it was one of his quieter performances until his burst into the box and shot led to Jesus’ second.

Riyad Mahrez: 6

Tormented Fulham without managing to get his name on the score sheet.

Gabriel Jesus: 8

We can safely assume he’s been taken off penalty duties – but did win the spot kick for City’s opener and was clinical with his two goals in the second half.

David Silva: 9

A masterclass from him. Enjoy him while you can. Gave Fulham the complete run-around with his elusive runs and deft touches. Also showed his aggressive side when forcing the mistake for Jesus’ first. Absolutely brilliant

Subs:

Raheem Sterling (for Mahrez, 53): 6

Gave City the burst of energy they needed 6

John Stones (for Otamendi, 74): 4

More minutes under the belt, but nothing to do.

Rodri (for Ilkay Gundogan, 74): 5

Could have played in his slippers.

Not used: Ederson, Aguero, Zinchenko, De Bruyne
