Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan tests positive for Covid-19, club confirm

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for Covid-19, the Premier League side confirmed on Monday.

"Manchester City FC can confirm that Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for COVID-19," a statement from City read.

"Ilkay is now observing a 10-day period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.

"Everyone at the club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery."

The Germany international becomes the third City player to return a positive test in recent weeks with Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte forced to self-isolate earlier this month.
