Manchester City join race for major Manchester United summer target; Liverpool eye eye-catching striker move; City keen on Benfica breakthrough star

The end of the season is almost upon us and the focus is starting to shift towards the summer transfer window, where plenty of cash is expected to be splashed by clubs in the Premier League.

With the financial pulling power of English football stronger than ever, it is not surprising to see media outlets across the continent reporting a vast amount of interest from Premier League clubs in a host of players.

We’ve gathered some of the latest rumours and gossip from across Europe below, involving a number of big players and huge clubs.

Benfica have a new star in the making - and Manchester City are already preparing to pounce.

According to The Guardian Florentino Luis is on City’s radar after recently breaking into the first-team.

The defensive midfielder, still only 19, is being considered as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho is sought.

Luis has worked his way up the youth ranks with Portugal and already has a release clause of €60m.

Benfica, however, are hoping that he will sign a new contract soon and increase the clause to over €100m.

City are also interested in fellow countryman, Bruno Fernandes.

World famous data analyst gives Premier League prediction - where Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United finish

The Portuguese midfielder has attracted a host of admirers after netting 28 goals for Sporting Lisbon this term.

According to Correio de Manha City have joined Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain in weighing up a summer move for the Portugal international.

Liverpool, who have been battling with City for the Premier League title, are also starting to check out targets for the summer.

The Mirror report that they are leading the chase to sign Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne.

Insigne has scored 76 goals in 302 appearances for the Italian giants but he’s had problems at the club in recent times.

The report states that Insigne was frustrated by manager Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to substitute him in that loss, and the relationship between the pair is fractured.

Napoli might be willing to move their captain on this summer if the price is right, and Liverpool will certainly have the funds after a money-spinning few seasons.
