Manchester City injuries and suspensions ahead of Leeds United visit as key man ruled out

Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United continue their difficult run of fixtures on Tuesday as they travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City.

The Whites felt hard-done-by to leave Stamford Bridge with no points on Saturday as they gave away two penalties, with the second coming in stoppage time to give Chelsea the win.

Leeds will be carrying several injuries still, as Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Robin Koch will all certainly be unavailable whilst there will be question marks over Rodrigo and Pascal Struijk. as they both missed the Chelsea game with more minor knocks.

In the case of Pep Guardiola's City side, they have perhaps the greatest level of depth in the Premier League but there are some absences:

Ferran Torres

The Spanish forward scored against Leeds at the Etihad last season but he won't be fit to face them this time around as a metatarsal injury has seen him ruled out for a several months. It seems that he might not be in the Premier League for too much longer with Barcelona holding strong interest in him.

Joao Cancelo

Leeds will be very happy that Cancelo is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season at the weekend.

The Portuguese man has been operating primarily from left-back this season and has been starring in a creative role, with Guardiola instructing him to invert into midfield in possession. It seems most likely that Oleksandr Zinchenko will play instead.

Ilkay Gundogan

Gundogan topped the scoring charts for City last season as they cantered to the Premier League title but he has taken up a deeper role for the Champions this season which has seen his goalscoring impact dip. However, the Whites would certainly be grateful to see him not involved on Tuesday. He is currently rated with a 50/50 chance of playing due to a back injury which he has been managing.
