Manchester City fans have called for Pep Guardiola to drop John Stones from the starting XI due to his inconsistent performances in the wake of the draw against Crystal Palace.
Question marks have been raised over Stones' performances this season and there was speculation that he could join Arsenal in the January transfer window.
However, City were reluctant to sell the England international and Guardiola named the ex-Everton man as Fernandinho's partner in defence for the fixture against the Eagles.
With City dominating possession for the majority of the game, the defence was rarely threatened until the last minute when Wilfried Zaha broke through on goal.
The Ivorian winger beat Stones far too easily and rifled a cross into the box which Fernandinho put into his own goal and cost City two vital points.
City fans feel Stones' place in the team should be under threat with some calling for Eric Garcia to be given the chance to impress instead.
