Man City fans react as Lionel Messi named in PSG squad for UCL clash

Manchester City travel to Paris this evening to take on Champions League favourites PSG in a game many believe could end up being the final of the competition.

This summer, PSG went from contenders to perennial contenders after going on a mega-spending spree as they brought in Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, Nuno Mendes, Gini Wijnaldum, Danilo Pereira and finally, Lionel Messi.

After Messi left Barcelona following the expiry of his deal, PSG were said to be the only side who could meet his wage demands - as well as Messi's preferred option if he had left the club.

PSG have made a perfect start in Ligue 1 - winning eight out of games so far this season.

However, the French side could only manage a draw against Club Brugge earlier this month and will now be looking to take points off of the English champions tonight.

And they will look to do so after receiving a huge injury boost, with Lionel Messi declared fit to start this evening.

The 34-year-old is yet to get off the mark for the Parisians, but remains a huge threat given the obvious quality at his disposal.

Manchester City come into the game off the back of an emphatic 6-3 win over RB Leipzig in their last group game, as they will also be buoyed following their 1-0 win over Champions League holders Chelsea this past weekend.

With fans full of confidence ahead of tonight's clash of the titans - here's what a few City fans have had to say about Messi's inclusion.

One said: "Nothing is to fear here, Guardiola will again outclass Pochettino again. Messi well known."

Another said: "Brilliant rubens dias' pocket will be even more full now with messi and veratti what we like to see."

Another fan said: "City fans being too overconfident."

Whilst one said: "No problem we're going to smash them anyway."

Manchester City will be without Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko this evening, but will be boosted by the returns of Rodri and Aymeric Laporte.
