Manchester City fans want youngster Eric Garcia to start in defence after John Stones was ruled out for up to five weeks with a muscle injury.
Pep Guardiola revealed the news in his press conference ahead of their opening Champions League fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Stones suffered an injury in training and joins Aymeric Laporte on the sidelines, leaving City extremely short of options at the back.
Nicolas Otamendi is the only senior centre-back currently fit and his error-stricken performance against Norwich is a cause for concern.
Guardiola revealed that Fernandinho is ready to step into defence if needed as Rodri has made the defensive midfield position his own since joining from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
However, Man City fans want to see Garcia given the chance to impress. The defender is viewed as one of the most talented youngsters in their ranks and City fans took to social media to express their desire to see him start.
