Manchester City fans fume with Pep Guardiola over Leroy Sane decision vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City's team for their Premier League game against Tottenham has been confirmed as they look to bounce back from their midweek Champions League exit.

The Blues were eliminated from the European competition at the quarter-final phase on Wednesday night despite drawing 4-4 on aggregate with Spurs.

Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the team he fielded three days ago, with Oleksandr Zinchenko, John Stones and Phil Foden coming in for Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, has made five changes to his team, with Paulo Gazzaniga, Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Ben Davies and Eric Dier all coming in.

For City, Leroy Sane remains on the bench having been restricted to a cameo role in midweek. He's joined on a strong-looking bench by the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane and David Silva.

Blues fans, however, can't quite get their heads around why Sane isn't starting.

Why?

It's not all bad news.

He's gone.

You wouldn't blame him if he left.

Set him free.

One good, one bad.

All the best in the future, Leroy.

An interesting theory.

Man City team to face Spurs

Starting XI: Ederson; Waler, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden; Bernardo, Aguero, Sterling

Subs: Muric, Jesus, Mahrez, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Sane, Silva
