Manchester City fan says exactly what Arsenal supporters want to hear about Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta has received glowing recommendations for many figures in the game as he continues to be linked with the managerial vacancy at Arsenal.

Just this week, quotes from Mauricio Pochettino - also a rumoured target for the Gunners - have resurfaced in which he's backed his former teammate at Paris Saint-Germain to become a a great manager.

"Yes of course, he’s going to be," Pochettino responded when Sky Sports asked if Arteta has what it takes to make it on his own. "He’s top, a top personality, character. I think he has the qualities to be one of the best.

Pep Guardiola awaits Mikel Arteta decision on Arsenal manager's role

"He was very young when I played with him at Paris Saint-Germain, he was 17 years old when he arrived and he was brilliant.

"He was brilliant not only because of his talent but his maturity on the pitch, to be a leader, his knowledge about football surprised me as he was a young player who had a capacity to talk in the same level as a 30-year-old player.

"For me, he’s going to be one of the best coaches when he decides to be a coach.

"He has the capacity to be one of the greatest coaches in football, for sure."

Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola among others have tipped Arteta to excel as a head coach, but what to Manchester City fans think about the prospect of losing the Spaniard?

Well, one fan appears to have given his blessing.

Furthermore, @RealTalkMCFC on Twitter has issued a detailed thread on Arteta's impact at the Etihad Stadium after joining Guardiola's coaching staff in the summer of 2016.

The thread includes how the 37-year-old helped to improve Raheem Sterling's game.

What will excite Arsenal fans about this thread is Arteta's attention to detail.

In particular, City's 2-0 win over the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium last season has been highlighted as "Arteta noticed how Arsenal-players were dropping too fast and deep on crosses, and therefore he instructed Mendy to put cut-back passes into the box in the space which Arsenal players had left open while dropping deep."

Bernardo Silva benefited from this advice as he would score from a Mendy cut-back and the City bench, including Guardiola, turned to celebrate with Arteta.
