Manchester City fan fighting for life after alleged assault after Schalke game

A Manchester City fan is fighting for life in hospital after an alleged assault in Germany.

The fan is in critical condition following the alleged assault, which took place after the club’s Champions League match against Schalke at the Veltins Arena on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Man City said the club are “working with Greater Manchester Police and Germany police to ascertain more information” about the incident.

The club’s official website says: “Club staff have remained in Germany to support the family of an injured City fan who is currently in a critical condition in hospital.”

The alleged assault came after Man City sealed a dramatic 3-2 Champions League win at Schalke.

Anyone with information that can help the police should contact 101.
