Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is now facing a wait to find out if Raheem Sterling will be fit to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend.
The former Liverpool forward has been on international duty with England, but has withdrawn from the squad to face Iceland in the UEFA Nations League after missing the 2-0 defeat to Belgium last night.
It is understood that Sterling, who has not featured for England in either the 3-0 win against Republic of Ireland or the defeat against Belgium, is struggling with a calf problem.
The Football Association have today confirmed that Sterling and Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson have both returned to their respective clubs for further assessment on injuries, with Henderson going off with a hamstring injury against Belgium.
As such, Manchester City now face a wait to determine whether Sterling will be fit to feature against Tottenham when the Premier League resumes this weekend.
City are the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening, with Guardiola's men currently five points behind Jose Mourinho's side in the table.
Guardiola's men have 12 points from their opening seven games, while Spurs have 17 points from eight games and currently sit second in the table.
