Manchester City confirm the news Arsenal fans did not want to hear ahead of Premier League clash

Manchester City have received a huge boost ahead of their clash with Arsenal this weekend.

Pep Guardiola's men will be looking to strengthen their grip of top spot against the Gunners having moved seven points clear with a game in hand after 11 straight Premier League wins and 15 league games unbeaten.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have business of their own to take care of having returned to winning ways with a professional display against Leeds United last time out.

Arsenal are now 10th and within six points of the top six, but they face their biggest test of the season on Sunday when they face City.

City are in blistering form, and to make matters worse for the Gunners, the Citizens have received a huge injury boost ahead of this weekend.

Guardiola's table-toppers have been without midfield star Kevin De Bruyne for their last five Premier League games with the Belgian suffering from a hamstring injury.

But ahead of the Arsenal fixture, and indeed City's clash with Everton on Wednesday night, De Bruyne has returned to training with images showing the midfielder getting put through the paces along with his teammates on Tuesday.

De Bruyne has been excellent again this season, racking up 15 assists scoring three times in 23 games across all competitions so far.

The Belgian superstar is not expected to start for City as they take on Everton on Tuesday night at Goodison Park, but Guardiola has confirmed the midfielder will travel.

Arsenal will be forgiven for keeping an eye on De Bruyne's involvement to see whether the 29-year-old is risked and if he can hit the ground running if he does feature.
