Manchester City have confirmed that the club will hold a parade on Monday, May 20 to celebrate their Premier League title.
City beat Brighton on Sunday 4-1 to secure the title for a second successive season, becoming the first team in ten years to retain the trophy as they fought off a valiant Liverpool effort.
Pep Guardiola's men have now won the Carabao Cup and Premier League this season, and can add the FA Cup on Saturday if they can beat Watford at Wembley. They also won the Community Shield at the beginning of the season.
That would see them become the first team to win the domestic treble, and the club held an event at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday night where the players lifted the trophy in front of fans who had waited around to see their heroes after they returned from Brighton.
At the event, the on-stage announcer confirmed a victory parade to celebrate their historic season with fans in Manchester to be held on Monday May 20 - two days after the FA Cup final.
Captain Vincent Kompany told the crowd: I’m so so proud. This team is amazing. We’re able to fill this place at this time of night. Thank you so much.”
Manager Pep Guardiola added: "I trust them a lot. I gave them two days off and we cancelled Tuesday afternoon training!”
“It’s more and more difficult. Last season was perfect but this season congratulations to Liverpool on a great season. But we did it! The organisation everybody we support them and try to do their best so all the respects to these incredible players.”
