Manchester City and Manchester United set to battle it out for Leicester defender - latest Premier League rumours

Manchester City and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

City see Maguire as the perfect replacement for the departing Vincent Kompany , while Man United are believed to be long-term admirers of the England international.

But despite having a reluctance to sell in the past, the Mirror believe the Foxes could be tempted to sell the 26-year-old for around £75million.

Norwich and Tottenham are both looking to sign West Brom youngster Rekeem Harper.

The Mirror are reporting that a battle to acquire the 19-year-old’s signature is set to get underway with his contract set to expire at the Hawthorns next month.

Harper, an England Under-19 international, made 16 appearances in the Championship last season.

Olivier Giroud has extended his stay at Chelsea.

The striker has put pen to paper on a one-year extension, with the club confirming the news on Tuesday morning.

Giroud’s deal was due to expire this summer, but he has decided to stay put for another 12 months at Stamford Bridge.

Bournemouth are set for another raid on the Championship, this time targeting Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The Cherries have already signed defender Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City for £13million and are keen to add Phillips to their ranks for next season, according to the Mirror.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in 128 league games for his hometown club.

Arsenal are interested in signing German goalkeeper Markus Schubert on a free transfer this summer as a replacement for Petr Cech.

According to German publication Bild, the Gunners will look to sign 20-year-old as the club’s new back-up stopper.

Schubert is a free agent after letting his contract at Dynamo Dresden run down, while Cech is set to retire from professional football following the conclusion on his side’s season.
