Manchester bowling bar All Star Lanes to reopen under new ownership as Lane7

City centre bowling bar All Star Lanes is to reopen under new ownership.

Lane7 will take over the site at the Great Northern Warehouse, off Peter Street, this autumn.

As well as ten pin bowling, the site will offer a host of gaming and entertainment experiences.

Attractions across the chain's other six UK sites include karaoke, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, mini golf, retro arcades and darts.

Great Northern Warehouse centre director Mark Schofield said: “We’re delighted to add Lane7 and its boutique bowling and entertainment offering to the mix of exciting brands here at the Great Northern Warehouse.

"We know that this brand of fun is something the city sorely misses after months of staying home to stay safe and we’re sure the venue will prove popular with all of our visitors, whether they’re dropping in for a game of bowling, to enjoy the atmosphere while catching up with friends or eager to try any of the other activities Lane7 will be home to.”

Lane7 was founded in Newcastle and also has sites in Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Aberdeen.

The Manchester site is part of expansion plans that will also see branches open in Bristol, Leicester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dublin.

Lane7 founder, Tim Wilks, added: "It's been a long term dream for us to find a city centre site in Manchester and we can’t wait to get the doors open.

"We're thrilled to be opening as part of the Great Northern Warehouse's varied leisure offering and can’t wait to welcome guests onto the lanes very soon."

An opening date will be announced soon.

All Star Lanes announced its closure in August, just weeks after reopening its bar and kitchen.

The American-style diner and tenpin bowling alley opened in 2013 and hosted celebrities including Rihanna and Drake, Lady Gaga, and the Corrie cast.

The company behind All Star Lanes went into administration last year.

A spokesman for Trilogy Real Estate, which owns the Great Northern Warehouse, said 'great efforts' had been made by both parties to keep the site operational.
