Manchester-bound Jet2 flight forced to make unscheduled stop in Ireland due to the 'disruptive' behaviour of passenger

A Manchester-bound flight had to be diverted to Ireland after a passenger became disruptive.

The Jet2 flight from Fuerteventura was forced to land at Cork on Sunday night, due to concerns about the behaviour of a woman, who was on board with her partner and a child

The captain and crew became concerned and took the decision to divert, reports CorkBeo.

Airport Police and Fire Service met the plane after it made its unexpected stop on the runway.

A spokesperson for CorkAirport said that gardai from Togher were called and interviewed the crew.

"The passenger was offloaded along with her partner and child," said the spokesperson.

"As there was no accommodation available for the partner and child, they reboarded the flight before it continued on to Manchester."

The flight landed safely in Manchester.

Gardai in Togher are expected to liaise with their counterparts in Manchester as the investigation into the incident continues.
