Manchester-based group to kickstart 600 jobs in the North West

The Manchester-based Golden Egg Group is launching its own Kickstarter scheme with the help of the DWP to deliver 600 jobs across the North West.

The scheme will take place over the next six months and is targeted at those aged 16 to 24 who are on Universal Credit.

People eligible for the programme will have the opportunity to be introduced to the world of work.

Currently, 600 jobs are available from the Golden Egg Group which spans 11 companies specialising in office administration, telesales, compliance, training, digital marketing, and financial services.

Training will be provided in areas such as administration, sales, and HR - during this training, participants will receive either the National Minimum Wage or the National Living Wage depending on their age.

Over the six month period, trainees will work 25 hours a week with a chance of a permanent position by the end of the programme with a starting salary of £18k.

Up to 400 of the positions available will be in Manchester city centre with other positions in Oldham, Rochdale, Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

Golden Egg Group CEO Ben Kershaw says: “Currently people on Universal Credit under the age of 24 with no children are receiving a weekly uplift of an extra £20.

"This ends in September when the furlough scheme ends. So, now really is the time for people to start applying and take advantage of this opportunity before it’s too late.

“All training will be conducted in-house by our trained instructors who will be providing support for trainees every step of the way.

"Trainees will receive all the guidance and knowledge of the position they need and will spend one to one time with their trainers to ensure they receive the full benefits of the job.

"It’s a great opportunity for people to get on the employment ladder."

Anyone interested in the scheme should send over their CV to either tahana@goldenegggroup.com or jess@goldenegggroup.com or enquire at their local DWP office to get more information.
