Manchester bakery serving 'pupcakes' for the perfect International Dog Day treat

A Manchester bakery is offering 'pupcakes' alongside their regular cakes and brownies after noticing their customer’s dogs were missing out.

Biscuit & Brew is a husband and wife team of Anna and Jack, who always talked about having a café of their own and eventually utilised Anna’s passion for bakery during lockdown to make their dream a reality.

They only founded the business this year and after initially operating online, they were able to set up residence in Hatch, Manchester’s popular shipping container neighbourhood, in April.

The venue contains over 30 independent traders, and is open seven days a week to visitors.

It is also a dog-friendly site, which is where the inspiration first came from for the 'pupcakes' which make the perfect treat for International Dog Day (August 26).

Anna told TeamDogs : "We noticed a large number of customers would bring their dogs to Hatch but they were missing out when their owners were eating out sweet treats.

"So we thought it was only right to create something for them too."

The pupcakes are made from dog-friendly ingredients including peanut butter, banana, and topped with a gravy bone.

For humans, such treats as Biscoff Rocky Road, Jammy Dodger Blondies, and their signature Brookies, a mix between a brownie and a cookie, are all on offer.

Biscuit & Brew can be found at Hatch, 103 Oxford Rd, M1 7ED
