Manchester Airport set to open up new flights to Istanbul in time for the UEFA Super Cup

Manchester Airport have increased the number of scheduled flights to Istanbul just in time for Liverpool fans to take advantage ahead of the UEFA Super Cup.

A new deal launched with Pegasus Airlines sees Manchester Airport connected to 32 destinations across Turkey, plus a further 39 international destinations including Bahrain, North Cyprus and Tbilisi.

The news comes at a timely time for Liverpool fans who have yet to book their travel arrangements to the forthcoming UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea.

On Wednesday August 14, Liverpool fans will return to the city that hosted the historic 2005 final.

The game will be played at the Vodafone Park and while the stadium holds just over 41,000 both Liverpool and Chelsea fans have received meagre allocations of 4,957.

Fans who had previously planned elaborate routes may now have the option of reconsidering. Fares for the new flights into Istanbul are said to start from £79.99.
