Manager stole thousands from hospice charity shop

The manager of a hospice’s charity shop has admitted stealing thousands of pounds from her employers.

Susan Kay, of Blackhorse Lane, Old Swan, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by employee after stealing from two shops run to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice.

The 64-year-old took cash totalling £8,931 from the charity shop she managed on Chapel Street in Southport and also admitted taking £240 from the Formby branch on Brows Lane.

Queenscourt is a charity which provides support for the people with serious illnesses in Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. It aims to enable patients to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage, both at its hospice and through its at home services.
