Manager reveals target has 'refused' Nottingham Forest transfer

West Bromwich Albion manager Sam Allardyce says Kamil Grosicki has turned down a move to Nottingham Forest.

The Poland winger came within seconds of joining Forest at the end of the last transfer window, only for the deal to collapse.

Now Allardyce says Forest returned with a renewed approach for the 32-year-old, but he was not interested in coming to the City Ground even though he's free to leave the Premier League side.

“He could have gone to Nottingham Forest but he refused,” Allardyce said.

“He has already been told if the right opportunity comes up for him he can leave because that obviously puts more funds in the pot to bring more players in before the deadline.”

Allardyce's comments should end any chance of a move to Nottingham for the former Hull man.

Despite being told he could go, Grosicki started Premier League games against Wolves and West Ham recently, although he was not involved against Manchester City most recently.

Forest remain keen to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

The did, to an extent, take one player from West Brom this month, with Filip Krovinovic returning to Benfica from Albion before joining the Reds on loan.

Manager Chris Hughton is likely looking to further strengthen his midfield options with Bournemouth's Dan Gosling the latest player touted with a move.
