Manager reveals deadline day intentions involving Nottingham Forest outcast

Bolton Wanderers appear to still be interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

The Reds midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan with the Trotters, but returned to the City Ground after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The 30-year-old, shipped out by Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi  during the summer, has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Bolton prior to his return to Trentside.

The former Leeds United man cost Forest £1m when he made his move to  the City Ground  in 2017, but he only counted 31 outings during his time with the Reds, spending the majority of his time with the club's Under-23s side.

Trotters boss Keith Hill says that he will be in touch with Forest on deadline day to see if a deal to get Bridcutt back to the University of Bolton Stadium can be done.

“There are a certain amount of restrictions and we got it done last time with Liam but we know it might go down to the last minute this time,” Hill told the Bolton News. “He is always welcome back here.

“He makes us stronger. We have got to be mindful of the five loan signings, we don’t want the predicament of having six and then leaving one out.

“The dynamics of the squad has to be that we’re in it together, fighting in every one of those 19 games remaining.

“We have got a lot of irons in the fire. We are trying to recruit to make us better and have 19 games left that we’re optimistic of getting points in those games. Some of those signings will drop in, some won’t.”
