YAMUNANAGAR: Two days after the farmers alleged irregularities in supply of fertilizer supply, the manager of the cooperative society at Khajuri village in Yamunanagar district, has been suspended by the district assistant registrar cooperative societies on Wednesday.
Assistant registrar Jitender Kaushik ordered that, "Pramod Kumar, manager of cooperative society, Khajuri, is suspended for his negligence in maintaining fertilizer stock and remaining absent."
As per the orders issued by assistant registrar Jitender Kaushik, "The manager of the Kajuri cooperative society Pramod Kumar is suspended for showing negligence in maintaining the fertilizer stock and remaining absent."
On Monday, a group of farmers held protest alleging that those farmers having large land holdings were being preferred over the marginal ones in supply of fertilizer urea. An inquiry was marked into these allegations, and after its report, the manager is suspended.
Kurukshetra deputy director agriculture (DDA) Pradeep Meel, who holds additional charge of Yamunanagar district said that the manager has been suspended and inquiry against him is still being done.
