Manager makes Luke Freeman transfer declaration amid Nottingham Forest and Leeds interest

Sheffield United boss has addressed speculation linking midfielder Luke Freeman with an exit from Bramall Lane.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for the Blades midfielder, who signed for the club from Queens Park Rangers last summer.

Promotion rivals Leeds United have also been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, with the Whites already adding to their rivals with the arrivals of Jean-Kevin Augustin and Ian Poveda.

Freeman has found his chances limited since arriving at Bramall Lane from Queens Park Rangers over the summer.

He has made 13 appearances in all competitions - but only three Premier League starts.

Recent reports have stated that the Blades are willing to let Freeman leave the club on loan this month, but Wilder hopes that no players will leave the club before Friday’s deadline.

Wilder also spoke about the future of former Forest loanee Billy Sharp, who has also been linked with an exit from Bramall Lane this month.

"There's obvious interest in boys who aren't playing football and I'd be disappointed if there wasn't. But I want to keep the group together,” Wilder told the Sheffield Star.

He added: "Some players have not kept pace with the club over the last three years but Billy and Luke have.

"They're part of the group and if I was in the Championship, I'd make an enquiry for them; one hundred per cent.

"But they're part of the group going forward and that's the end of the story as far as I'm concerned."
