Manager confirms exit of Bristol City, Derby County and Hull City target available on free transfer

Mark Robins has confirmed that Jordan Willis has left Coventry City.

The 24-year-old was out of contract at the Sky Blues this summer but turned down a new deal in order to play his football elsewhere.

Willis has been strongly linked with a move to the Championship, with Bristol City one of a number of clubs said to be interested in him.

Yet the Robins' signing of Tomas Kalas for £8m could well mean Willis goes somewhere else, with Luton Town, Derby County and Hull City having also been linked with the centre-back.

Wherever Willis ends up, it will not be back at Coventry, with Mark Robins confirming to Coventry Live that the player has left.

He said: "It was done at the end of the season.

"We offered him a contract and he turned that down.

"I left the door open for him in case he wanted to do something but, really, we have had to move on because we couldn’t wait for him."

Being over 24, Willis will be available on a free transfer and any club signing him will not need to pay compensation.
