Man wounded in South Shore shooting

A 33-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Tuesday in the South Shore neighborhood.

After receiving a ShotSpotter call about 8:28 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Chappel Avenue, officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the right bicep in the 7400 block of South Bennett Avenue, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said the man has been uncooperative and refused to provide additional information.

Area South detectives are investigating.
