Man wounded in shooting at Oak Park gas station

A man was shot and wounded at a gas station Friday in west suburban Oak Park.

The 21-year-old was sitting in his car at a Shell station in the 6100 block of North Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when a man walked up and fired shots, Oak Park police said in a statement.

The wounded man was driven to West Suburban Medical Center by a passenger in his vehicle, police said. He was treated for a gunshot wound.

The shooter was described as a 19-year-old man, about 5-foot-9 with a slim build, police said. He was seen running west into an alley south of North Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call Oak Park police at 708-386-3800.
