Man wounded in Ravenswood shooting

A man was shot and wounded as he sat in a vehicle Friday in the North Side Ravenswood neighborhood.

He was in the 4600 block of of North Leavitt Avenue about 8 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up from behind and at least one person inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

The bullets came through the back of his vehicle and struck the 31-year-old twice in the shoulder, police said. He drove off and took himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

The shooter’s vehicle was occupied by three people and was last seen driving west on Wilson Avenue, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating. No arrests have been reported.
