A 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Sunday evening in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 6:40 p.m., the man was standing on a sidewalk in the 6500 block of South Kedzie Avenue when he heard gunfire and realized he was shot, Chicago police said.

He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital to treat a gunshot wound in his leg, police said. No one is in custody.

Police initially said the shooting happened in the 3200 block of West 65th Street.
