Man wounded in Aurora shooting

A man was shot Monday in west suburban Aurora.

Three men were sitting in a parked car about 1:40 a.m. when someone started shooting at them in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue, according to a statement from the Kane County sheriff’s office.

The driver took off when the shooting started and the vehicle got stuck in a culvert, the sheriff’s office said. The back-seat passenger, a 24-year-old man from Oswego, was hit by gunfire and taken to an Aurora-area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two others, from Aurora and Oswego, were not hurt authorities said.

Investigators have no description of any suspects and the motive for the shooting remains unknown, according to the sheriff’s office.
